CAM Café Music

Perry Smith, guitar

Thursday, September 19, 6-8 PM


Enjoy music by Perry Smith while you dine at CAM Café. Perry is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar and plays hand percussion, oud, mandolin, Native American flute, key boards and vocals. He plays regularly with Cosmic Groove Lizards, Axiom, Zion, Sea Pans and Narayani. Perry accompanies dance classes at UNCW, facilitates drumming programs for special populations, and teaches lessons from his studio at the Art Works.
CAM Café serves Thursday dinner and offers half-priced bottles of wine from 5-9 PM. Reservations are always suggested and appreciated 910-777-2363.

Sterling Elliot, Cello

Give yourself a lunch time treat at CAM, come for a preview performance, followed by Q&A, by cellist Sterling Elliott, the 2019 Sphinx Competition Finals 1st Place Winner of the Senior Division, with Steven Errante accompanying. Elliott, 19, has been playing the cello for 16 years and currently attends the Julliard School in New York. He will be in residency in Wilmington September 16 – 22, 2019, and will be performing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 PM at the Wilson Center.

Works in Progress Showcase

The Dance Cooperative, in association with CAM, provides informal showings to offer working choreographers a place to present works in progress to be reviewed and critiqued in a nurturing environment. The public is invited to witness the creative process, provide feedback and help the creator grow the works to realize their concepts to the fullest potential. Filmmaker Series

‘Get Low’ with Lisa Mae and Craig Fincannon, Motion Picture and Television Casting

Each film in the CAM Filmmaker Series is presented by one of Wilmington's own resident filmmakers and followed with a Q&A session. Get Low (2009, PG-13, 1 hr 43 min) stars Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek in a movie of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious, 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party... while he was still alive. Fincannon and Associates was started in 979 and has now worked on over 125 feature films, more than 200 episodics, 125 movies of the week, 6 Mini-series, and hundreds of commercials, they have won three Primetime Emmy Awards.
